January 2007 News Letter
Happy New Year from all of us at MotoPark. This is the first of our new monthly newsletters to update you on what's new and hot on our journey through Motoworld.
If you wish to be removed from our list just let us know. We realize some of you might be on here through our various business dealings and we can put you in our Non-Motocross file or just eliminate your email address from our list.
Last year was a record for MotoPark in terms of Memberships, Practice rides, Rentals and our Summer Camps and training programs. We are constantly upgrading our facilities and 2007 will be no exception. Our facility in Quebec will finally start seeing some of the upgrades that Ontario has enjoyed and will be open regular hours in 2007. Parc du Moto de la Quebec will eventually feature all of the great facility we have in Ontario. The "really big news" on MotoParks expansion is coming in early February.
We have some great plans for this years Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek Maryland including a Bus Tour for Ontario attendees. Click here for the information. MotoPark President Carl Bastedo is Canada's Team Manager, to read his storytime article on last years Nations click here.
Got this picture from Matt Cooper. Matt lives in Singapore Malaysia and has attended our five day camps for a few weeks the last couple years. Congratulations on your Championship Matt. Also, a release from Supermoto star Emerson Connor who does his Motocross Training here at the Park. Congrats Emerson, keep up the good work.
MotoParks team of Instructors has been busy this Winter as well. Our SnoCross Champions Michael Island and Iain Hayden are having trouble finding snow this year but are doing well in the races they have attended. Watch for Iain taking part in the ESPN X Games this weekend. Zoomin Zeb has been busy training and got a well deserved 12 th place at this years World Supercross Round in Toronto. Zeb will be down South for much of the Winter and will ride the Georgia State Motocross Championship Series starting in March. Our 5 time Georgia State Champion, Clint Shealy, had a little spill on the last corner of a race he was winning in October. As a result he tore his ACL. Rather than just let it heal he had it repaired properly and is recuperating from the surgery. Clint will be back in action in March with Zeb at the Georgia Championship events.
Our Academy chief, facility designer and Webmaster Nick Hill has been busy designing an all new look MotoPark for 2007. As well as working on our expansion plans, more news in February. Mikey Mahoney and James Grimstead have been attending school and will be starting to get ready for the 2007 season in April.
Jay Moto can't wait to see you all back up here for the 2007 season. He and Metzler have been learning the computer over the winter and he's been stocking up some great parts and accessories for the Pro Shop.
Kristen has been working on plans for all the facilities, she & Nick are off to a challenge course and paintball conference in Kentucky this weekend (oops). Carl and Gord have been busy with the new facility plans as well as the work they do with Live Nation on the World Supercross and Monster Jam shows in Canada. Carl's also deep into the final planning stages for the Toronto International Bicycle Show he manages the first weekend of March at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto. Zeb won the BMX freestyle dirt jump championship at the show in 2006 and that will be one of his upcoming events this year, www.bicycleshowtoronto.com .
Tim and Marc have been resting a bit but keeping in the Moto game with some trips south and planning for our service area both here and at our new location. Tim got to ride the SuperMoto event at the Dual at the Docks in California in November finishing 9 th in the Supermoto Class. Tim also rode his 1973 Honda Elsinore in an exhibition race.
It's time to consider booking your summer camp or enrolling in our Motocross Academy. Info at www.motoparkracing.com That's it for us this month. We'll be back in February to update you on the MotoPark family and we look forward to having you back in 2007.
